We’ve partnered with our good friends to the University of Melbourne and Alffie to develop our training programs to meet the needs of the new millennium. With the University of Melbourne, we are offering a university short course on Customised Employment with a focus on leaders. Delivered via two intensive 3-day programs starting in Mid 2020, this course will educate and inform future and existing leaders. Partnering with Online education expert, Alffie we will be offering a Certificate 4 program in Disability Employment Support. With its focus on Customised Employment and Discovery, this program meets the needs of professionals delivering services within the NDIS and DES frameworks who are looking to deliver real person-centred programs that support real customer choice and control. The online program is supported by a practicum on completion of the program to ensure that participants are exposed to hands-on experiences that ensure knowledge translation. Online training is perfect for the busy professional or remote learner.
If face to face training is important for your organisation and staff, then we are more than happy to deliver training onsite or at a suitable venue. Face to face has the advantage of full immersion in theory and practice with real hands-on experience. Speak to us today to see how we can meet your needs.
These programs cover the full 40-hour minimum standards for employment support and for us is another step on a path to creating real professional competence in disability employment practice that supports real choice and control. These programs mirror our face to face training and allow us to offer real training to the broader community. Our programs reflect our experience working with Griffin Hammis Associates, the pioneers of Customised Employment in the USA, client organisations in Australia along with research locally and overseas that informs the evolution of Customised Employment and Discovery so that it meets the demands of disability employment systems in Australia. Systems don’t stand still, neither should you.
Led by our training team under the direction of our academic director, Dr June Alexander, we’re excited by what 2020 offers in elevating professional development for employment staff in Australia. Email or phone us today.
