Job Carving is a recognised practice used to create to employment opportunities for people with barriers to employment from existing jobs. It involves taking elements of a job and bundling them into a new job description that will allow a person to work in the same setting under the same conditions as other employees. Little is known about the effectiveness of this practice, its role in Job Development and creating long-term sustainable employment, impact, and essential elements. This research explores job carving and its essential elements and value as a job-creation tool.
