Job Carving
Job Carving is recognised as a practice to create to employment opportunities for people with barriers to employment from existing jobs. It involves taking elements of a job and bundling them into a new job description that will allow a person to work in the same setting under the same conditions as other employees.
Little is known however about the effectiveness of this practice in creating long term sustainable employment, its impact, and essential elements. This research seeks to explore job carving and discover its essential elements and value as a job-creation tool.
